This course allows for more one on one tuition or more specialised projects.
COURSE OUTLINE
You will begin by learning the basic techniques then develop and practice these on your own designs.
Focus will be on teaching the process of how to create a hand-cut stencil which can be a simple one-colour screen print or a more complex three-colour print using registration and pattern repeat. Developing a print using overlays of colour, negative and positive imagery will also be covered.
There will be a chance to create stencils digitally using the Cricut machine.
With a class of only 2 students this course allows for a more in depth project such as a lampshade (you will need to have clear measurements and specifications to work with, a collection of cushions or a printed piece of fabric to cover a small chair

1 metre of calico, inks etc.

Ingrid creates screen printed fabrics with an innate connection to local design, heritage and contemporary art. Her designs are inspired by a love of New Zealand’s native flora and fauna and are recognisable with her use of simple motifs and bold flat colour.
Ingrid has a strong social and environmental conscience and chooses to support local product and services wherever possible.
All her products are designed printed and made in New Zealand.
